ReadyByDesign turns civil preparedness into a practical plan. Resources, quantities and equipment organised for people who want to build greater autonomy with a method.
How we calculate
We use transparent rules: 4 L of water per person/day, age-based food energy estimates and supplies scaled to duration. These are planning assumptions, not nutritional or medical prescriptions. Rural homes receive a 20% water buffer. We allow 1.5 L of water/day per dog and 0.25 L per cat; adjust for size, climate and veterinary advice. Food portions use an approximate 400 kcal equivalent.
The score represents the percentage of items marked as available. It does not assess quantity, expiry, quality or household safety.
Product searches are generic, with no invented prices or ASINs. You don’t need to buy: start with what you have.
